Fires / Covid-19
Well, I think we can speak for everyone when we say it has been a wild ride for the South Coast of NSW since November 2019 when the fires started to impact our neighbouring towns and Shires!
But here we all are 12 months later!
Firstly, well done to you all. We are blown away by the Aussie spirit and the resilience we have witnessed and been a part of in the last 12 months. People coming together to support each other and push through these uncertain times is undoubtedly what makes the south coast so attractive. It is also why My family and I have fallen in love with Moruya choosing to make it our little paradise with you all some 13 years ago!
At Alfresco Coffee Roasters, we felt the punch along with you all.
I spent my November through to Christmas and New Year fighting fires with FRNSW Moruya Station 384. I must say that the men and women there are extraordinary humans who risked all to help protect Moruya's coast and our beloved township. As we fought the fires, I got to watch firsthand as the township of Moruya's people banded together in an hour of need and neighbours helped each other prepare and then eventually fight the fires.
What followed was a mammoth recovery effort. Once again, people worked together to see the town and surrounds to a somewhat "normal" existance.
And just as it all started to settle down, news of Covid and all that followed hit and sent our world back into a crazy spiral of uncertainty.
Anyway, I know you all know the story but the reason for this blog post is to take a moment to say "Thank You" to all of you our friends, family, customers and clients for your generous support, care and strength as we all push on into a busy holiday season!
Once again, Thank You Moruya !! You are a town full of incredible individuals! We are here to do life with you and support this town, shire and amazing country of Australia.
See you for coffee. ✌🏻
